Champ Car Series from the 19th to the 21st September 2002 at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz
Kletwitz, 5th November 2001-11-04
Though the German 500 is still a hot topic of conversation, not only for the 150,000 motorsport fans who witnessed live the thrilling Champ Car Weekend in September, but for many other too, plans are already being laid afoot for the next season's events. The German 500 will take place next year from the 19th to the 21st September!! All motorsport fans should put this date firmly in their diaries for next year now.
"The German 500 is better than Formula 1" (Auto Bild Motorsport magazine, 07.08.01), "Faster than Formula 1" (Welt am Sonntag newspaper, 09.09.01), "Formula madness!" added the Bild tabloid newspaper (08.05.01).
And the best news yet: Whilst this year "Schumi" was busy putting his paces through the Monza track at the same time as this year's event, next year all eyes will be on the 2-mile-Superspeedway in Lausitz as the German 500 weekend falls exactly between two Formula 1 races - in Monza (Italy) and in Indianapolis (USA).
