INDIANAPOLIS (August 14, 2002) - The ever-growing crop of Mexican drivers, sponsors and teams in the CART community will get a rare chance to meet the man who helped get it all started this weekend at the Grand Prix of Road America Featuring the Motorola 220, as 1982 Road America winner Hector Rebaque will serve as the Grand Marshal of the event.

Rebaque, who was the first foreign driver to win a CART series race, will be joining the Governor of the Mexican state of Guanajuato Juan Carlos Romero Hicks this weekend in opportunities to meet and talk with the current group of Hispanic drivers and teams.

The former driver will hold a press conference Saturday morning with some of the current group of Hispanic pilots while Governor Hicks will visit the drivers on Sunday morning. The visiting dignitaries will also be on the pre-race grid and are expected to take part in the podium ceremonies after the race. Rebaque will also take part in a presentation with CARA Charities Sunday morning. The first driver ever to win a CART race by leading only the final lap of an event, Rebaque will also conduct interviews on Sunday with local as well as international media.
