Adrián Fernández, Owner/Driver -- #51 Tecate/Quaker State/Telmex Honda/Lola/Bridgestone:
Qualified: 8th 1:43.053 140.852 mph
"The car felt good; I just made some mistakes. We changed some things with the gears and I just couldn't focus. It was a shame because the car was good and I think we could have qualified in the top five easily. I really never put in a good lap. The gear change threw off my rhythm and that's why I spun earlier in the session. I just didn't have enough time to establish a rhythm with the new gearing."

"I think we improved the car a lot from yesterday, but we are missing something. We are still a second off the fastest time in the session. The car is obviously getting better, but it is still not fast enough. It's consistent, and I think we have a good car for the race. We just need to work on qualifying."

Tom Anderson, Co-Owner/Managing Director:
"As always, you are looking for more speed if you are not first or second. We're eight and 10th today and I'm pleased with the result over last weekend. I'm also optimistic about Adrian's race tomorrow with his physical condition, and I think he will be fine. Sixty laps around here is a long way to go, and I feel that Adrian and Shinji can be competitive tomorrow for what I hope will be our second podium finish of the season."
