Detroit, Mich. (June 18, 2000) - Della Penna Motorsports rookie Norberto Fontana narrowly missed collecting his first championship points of the season in today’s Tenneco Automotive Grand Prix of Detroit. Fontana had worked his way to 12th position from a 20th place start when a fuel pick up problem ended his day with just four laps remaining. He finished 14th.

Norberto Fontana: “Our luck is unbelievable. The car was difficult all day, but we had managed to work our way through the field and definitely could have finished in the points. We’d had problems with the fuel early in the race, but we thought we were going to make it. It’s very frustrating.”
