Light rain showers dampened the qualifying efforts of Walker Racing rookies, Corona driver Rodolfo Lavin and RAC Walker Racing driver Darren Manning with newly-announced sponsorship from sportsbook.com. While Manning lost his third place provisional qualifying standing from Friday, a seventh place start in Sunday's Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver will match his best road course qualifying effort earned at Laguna Seca.

Rodolfo Lavin (R), #5 Corona Competition Team Ford-Cosworth XFE-Reynard-Bridgestone

"The track was damp during my qualifying run, which made it quite slippery. The cooler temperatures have left us chasing the set-up on the Corona car. It was much better yesterday. Today, the car is pushing too much and has a lot of wheel spin. Hopefully the weather and the track conditions will be better for us tomorrow in the race."

Darren Manning, (R), #15 RAC Walker Racing Ford-Cosworth XFE-Reynard-Bridgestone

"It was a pretty good effort with a 62.0 (second lap). We had a lot of problems this morning and we ended up cutting our practice session short. We think there was a problem with the differential, but we won't know for sure until we send it off to be tested. We put everything back to where we were yesterday, so we didn't quite know what to except for this qualifying run. It's good to be up in P7, on the inside for the first corner. It's back to being a quick car, so that's good for the race tomorrow."

Manning stands ready to make Champ Car history by becoming the first rookie driver in the series' history to earn eight consecutive top-ten finishes. The Englishman is the first CART Champ Car rookie since John Jones in 1988 to string together seven consecutive top-ten finishes.
