Denver, Colo. August 31, 2003 - Alex Tagliani, driver of the No. 33 Johnson Controls Lola, earned his tenth top-ten finish of the season for Rocketsports Racing. Tagliani finished the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver in ninth position, after starting 11th on the grid, with a qualifying time of 1:02.287 (95.192 mph, 153.196 km/h). Tagliani is now eighth in the Champ Car World Series standings with 91 points.

"A top-ten finish is a relief, especially since we struggled with the set up all weekend, said Tagliani. "The Denver street course is tough with different demands from previous races we've had this year." The two hour race was tough indeed, as only 12 drivers in a field of 19 completed the 106 laps.

Finding the set up that complimented Tagliani's driving style and met the demands of the course posed the greatest challenge to Tagliani and crew. "We learned a lot, but not exactly what we needed for a top car," explained Tagliani. "We went with softer springs this morning during warm up and the car felt good. We then went with a stiffer car for the race, which wasn't the best choice because it was tougher to drive. It's been frustrating, but hopefully things will be better for us in Miami," concluded Tagliani with a positive look forward.
