Mario Domínguez - Driver
"The biggest problem we faced today was that we lost an engine during this morning's practice session. For sure, that affects the plans because you don't get the opportunity to try all of your options. But we ended up with a pretty decent set up for qualifying. The lack of practice time hurt us but we're in the ballpark. We're looking for a good finish tomorrow. Unlike a lot of other street circuits, this track is quite wide in places and you can pass. I think you'll see some action in turn five."
* The Shell Grand Prix of Denver marks Domínguez's 14th start in the CART FedEx Championship Series.
CART has shortened the race distance from 115 to 100 laps around the 1.647-mile temporary street circuit in Denver, Colorado. The lap times for the Champ Cars on the nine-turn Denver course were slightly longer than anticipated in Friday practice and qualifying, meaning that a 115-lap event would have pushed SPEED Channel's live coverage - along with the live coverage on HDNet - past the allotted time schedule.
Champ Car warm up will take place at 9:00 am Mountain Time on Sunday. The green flag will drop for the 100-lap Shell Grand Prix of Denver at 1:00pm Mountain Time.
Cable network SPEED Channel will carry the race live in the US beginning at 3:00 pm ET. As well, HDNet, which is available on DirecTV channel 199, will also air the race to those with satellite service. In Mexico, the broadcast will be live on TV Azteca. Live audio and timing and scoring will be available online at www.cart.com.
