Taken out in a first corner melee Paul Tracy was understandably cross about race day at Cleveland, "I was clear into the first corner - 2 to 3 car lengths ahead, and I braked at the same point I do for qualifying and turned in ... it was my corner. Then Tagliani goes by at a hundred miles an hour, way too fast into the corner where there was no opportunity, and Wilson had nowhere to go so took me out."
"I had the best car all weekend, and this was a great opportunity to score maximum points. It's very frustrating."

Patrick was as frustrated as his Canadian team mate, "The first corner here is always 'interesting' ... I was on my brakes at the normal place when I saw Tagliani go flashing by and then the accident."
"After the restart I was chasing Bourdais and had a good chance for a really strong finish, but my engine started losing power and a few laps later it just went [lap 20] - that's very unusual indeed, the Ford engines are so strong ... I don't know what happened. This weekend was a time for us to get a lot of points, but we'll have to wait for Toronto now."

An outstanding first corner saw Rodolfo avoiding the mess on the outside and make up 8 places from 15th to 7th going up the inside. "I saw the accident happening on the outside line, so I headed down the right side and passed a lot of cars. After the restart I was feeling good about my chances for the race - my car felt good all weekend and it was bad we started so far back, so this was a good chance for me. The car felt great and I was putting in good times every lap."
"On the restart mid race [lap 48] I made a mistake getting ready for to overtake and spun, but I kept it going and rejoined but it had put me back to 10th placed. The team decided to do a quick pit stop to try a different strategy to make up time later, but when I came in I couldn't find neutral so the engine stalled. Then I was chasing Mario Dominguez and I was faster than him by about 0.7 seconds per lap, but got help up by Phillipe un til he was blue flagged. In the end I finished 9th - not what I wanted, but after starting 15th it was better than nothing. The car was good all weekend and I felt really comfortable - I'm learning so much and am feeling much smoother in my driving".
Phil Le Pan was pleased with Rodolfo's performance, "He's been very consistent this weekend - overall a solid drive from him and he was doing really well in the mix. He avoided trouble and was quicker than his immediate competition".
Rodolfo finished 9th.
