MIAMI, Fla. (March 22, 2000)--He is used to pushing the performance envelope for his Ford/Lola racecar at speeds exceeding 230 miles-per-hour in the CART FedEx Championship Series. Now, Christian Fittipaldi, 29, is prepared to run the ragged edge in Internet technology by launching FITTIPALDIonline.com at midnight, March 22, 2000

Through his official website FITTIPALDIonline.com the racing fan will begin an unprecedented journey with one of auto racing's top drivers as Christian travels to 20 races on four different continents in the 2000 CART FedEx Championship.

Never in the history of the Internet has the fan been granted this much access into the life of a major racing driver as Christian will be directly providing more than 75 percent of the content for this site himself. Through snapshots of his travels and off-track experiences, to personal audio diaries and interviews with his engineers and crew, Christian will personally document the 2000 season so that all of his fans will get a closer look into the exciting life of a racer than ever before FITITIPAILDIonfine.com will take advantage of the latest available technological developments to enrich the experience.

The online fan will also have a chance to win with Christian this season. Through a random drawing after each race, a lucky fan will take home one of Christian's track worn helmet visors, duly autographed to the fan's name. At the end of the season, one of these fans will travel to the season ending Marlboro 500 at California Speedway, all expenses paid. At the end of that race, Christian will present his race helmet, in pit lane, right out of the car, to the winning fan! Sign up and contest details can be found on FITTIPAILDIonline.com.

This exciting journey begins on March 23, 2000 with the launch of the website, contest, and coverage of the Marlboro Grand Prix of Miami presented by Toyota at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, March 26.

Christian Fittipaldi will begin his sixth season in the CART FedEx Championship and fifth season with Newman-Haas Racing. Fittipaldi is sponsored by Big Kmart and Route 66 and drives a Ford-powered Lola chassis an Firestone tires. In the 1999 season Christian won his first CART race at the Texaco/Havoline 200 at Road America and posted his first CART pole position in Rio.
