We made a lot of improvements to the car and of course, I'm learning to drive the track a little better too. We made a couple of little changes but they made a big difference. I think I didn't do such a great job on the last corner of my last lap so maybe we could have done a little better. We're close though - just a little fine-tuning to do. Even though this track is small, it's tough to learn the limits of it. I followed Darren Manning around the track a little bit yesterday because he has so much experience here, he knows where to go. There are very specific lines here to go fast and a lot of little tricks. It takes a very particular driving style to get it right here!
This is Dominguez's best qualifying position in his Champ Car career, eclipsing his previous best of 8th at Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico.

The problem we had on the car yesterday was a fueling system problem but it is all fixed now. This is a brand new car for this weekend, never been run before, so these things will happen. I have a very good crew though and they found and fixed it, no problem. We're improving every time we go out and the car is much better today than yesterday. We had a good run in qualifying and, more importantly, I have a great race car for tomorrow. It's going to be very consistent during the runs. With the new rules here, we'll be working on new strategies for the race. We'll have to work to conserve fuel when we can and it will be very important to time the pit stops differently from the other teams because the pits are quite small.
