With five top-six finishes in the last six races, Shell driver Kenny Brack have moved to fourth in the championship point standings with 63 points, just five points behind second place Michael Andretti (68 pts). Brack is coming off his best CART finish, a runner up effort at Cleveland after starting 15th, as the CART FedEx Championship Series heads to Toronto this weekend. "I was really proud of the effort the Shell team put together at Cleveland," said Brack. "It was a strange weekend for us. We went from third on Friday to 15th on Saturday to a podium finish on Sunday. All through the weekend the crew kept positive and worked towards making the car as good as possible. Even when we were having problems on Saturday there was an attitude that we would get things turned around and be on pace." For Brack the re-adjustment to driving on road and street courses after driving all ovals in the IRL for the last three years has been quick. In the last two CART events, Brack has posted a sixth place finish at Portland (road) and a second place effort at Cleveland (street). "The biggest obstacle for me was figuring out what I needed from the car for a road race," said Brack. "I have felt like I found my rhythm for driving the road courses at Long Beach (his first street race). Adapting to the race strategies, the pit stops and the demands on the car were the real challenge for me. Fortunately with Team Rahal I have a great crew and my engineer Don Halliday has been vital in helping me with the learning curve." This weekend's trip to Toronto will be a first for Brack. "I have never raced in Canada or been to Toronto so I am looking forward to the experience. Everything I keep hearing about the Canadian fans is how knowledgeable they are and how there is a carnival atmosphere that surrounds the race."

In his first test at the Chicago Motor Speedway, Kenny Brack was second fastest at the CART Open Test held last week in Cicero, IL. Brack turned a lap of 22.542-sec./164.333 mph on Friday morning and only Cristiano da Matta of PPI Motorsports was faster at 22.422-sec./165.213 mph. Brack's only other visit to the Chicago Motor Speedway came in late May when he attended a media function giving pace car rides to the local media. Team Rahal's Max Papis who captured the pole position at Chicago in 1999 with a lap of 22.788 sec./162.559 mph was ninth overall at the test with a fast lap of 22.699-mph/163.197 mph.
