Sebastien Bourdais to Race in Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona

Indianapolis (January 26, 2006) -- Two-time defending Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford Champion Sebastien Bourdais will compete at the Grand American Road Racing Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona on Saturday. Bourdais will race for Doran Racing and will team with former Champ Car pilot Raul Boesel and B.J. Zacharias. It will be his second race of the weekend at Daytona as he was previously scheduled to compete in the Grand Am Cup event with his father Patrick Bourdais in a Ford Mustang GT. The two-time Champ Car titlist will join fellow Champ Car competitors A.J. Allmendinger, Paul Tracy, Justin Wilson and Jimmy Vasser also competing in the Rolex 24. Bourdais has competed in a wide variety of racing disciplines including winning at Texas Motor Speedway in IROC competition, the BAJA 1000, and the Race of Champions in his native France. The 26-year-old Bourdais competed in the Rolex 24 last year teaming with his car owner Paul Newman and fellow Champ Car competitor Cristiano da Matta.
