Detroit, MI (June 3, 1998) -- Blundell, a native Briton, will speak to a group of elementary school students at Parker Elementary School in Royal Oak, a Detroit suburb, Thursday morning. He will tie elements of the schools current curriculum to Champ Car racing. Topics will include teamwork, careers and safety issues. "I'm looking forward to it," Blundell said. "I have two young children myself [Mark Jr. and Callum], so hopefully, I'll be able to influence these kids as I try to influence my own. There are many natural ties between the racing profession and activities promoted in today's schools. Hopefully, we'll also be able to create some race fans." Students will also have the opportunity to take an up-close look at the Motorola PacWest Mercedes that Blundell drives in the FedEx Championship Series.
