Kamphausen Update From CART This is from a letter to the CART community from CART Sr. VP, Tim Mayer in regard to Billy Kamphausen:

"This weekend, he suffered some complications, which were unwelcome news. Saturday was a particularly tense day, in which they did a follow-up procedure to correct some additional problems that he was suffering from. Since then, he has made progress steadily, and today (March 30), so long as things proceed as planned, they are going to move him out of the Intensive Care ward.

"It turns out that his doctor, Dr. Woo, is a racing fan, so Billy has been receiving royal treatment at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. All of us at CART would like to acknowledge the great care and attention that the staff of the CCU and Dr. Woo's team has provided for Billy. As of today if you would like to send him a note there, you would be able to do so.

"Billy has asked me to send on his thanks for all the wishes and prayers that have gone out for him. He said that it has been a real boost to him to know how concerned everyone was for him.

"If you would like to send Billy a note please address it to webmaster@cart.com and put 'Note for Billy' in the subject line. We will take them to him daily."
