Fontana, California October 30th, 2000 - Player's Team driver Alex Tagliani, implicated in an incident during the California 500 in Fontana, the final stage of 2000 CART season, was transported to Loma Linda Hospital for precautionary x-rays.

The Canadian driver was awake and alert after an impact with the wall in turn 1. An initial medical exam was done on site by CART Director of Medical Affairs, Dr.Steve Olvey, recommending x-rays be taken at hospital following the driver's report of back and abdomen discomfort.

At Loma Linda Hospital, Tagliani under went a CAT-scan on his back and results indicated that there was no fracture. Tagliani will remain in hospital overnight for observation as a precautionary measure. Following his stay, he will head to Indianapolis, Indiana to meet with CART Chief Orthopedic Consultant, Dr. Terry Trammell, for further evaluation.
