INDIANAPOLIS (July 22, 2002) - The return of the CART FedEx Championship Series to Denver, Colorado has brought some excitement to the Mile High City, especially throughout the area's large Hispanic population, who will be coming out in droves for the Aug. 30-Sept. 1 weekend to support the Mexican teams and drivers that will be vying for the Grand Prix of Denver title.

Falling under the column of both 'owner' and 'driver', Adrian Fernandez (#51 Tecate/Quaker State/Telmex Honda/Lola/Bridgestone) will take some of his time to help build the enthusiasm for the Sept. 1 race by spending a full day in Denver on Tuesday to promote the event, as well as taking time out to meet race fans both young and old.

Fernandez will start the day by hosting media track rides of the temporary street circuit, and will then hold a press luncheon at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Tamayo (1400 Larimer Drive), followed by a short presentation on Grand Prix of Denver's Latino Marketing Initiative. The seven-time CART race winner will then do an interview for the Spanish-speaking Univision television network before heading to Denver's Barnum Recreation Center to give a presentation at an inner-city summer youth program, where he will also be signing autographs and meeting the young race fans.
