Matt Brabham will get his first proper testing run in an IndyCar at Iowa later this month.
The 21-year-old Australian will test for Andretti Autosport at the Iowa Speedway on Wednesday, splitting track time with regular driver Marco Andretti.
It will be Brabham’s first proper test outing in an IndyCar, after driving Ryan Hunter-Reay’s car at a filming day earlier this year.
“I’m absolutely thrilled,” he said.
“I’ve dreamed about driving IndyCar my whole life, ever since they started racing the Gold Coast and going to the racetrack as a kid.
“I am focused on [the test] and we’ll see how it goes. There is a lot of stuff Andretti Autosport wants to go through, and I want to be a beneficial person to the team.
“I’m definitely ready.”
It's been a year of firsts for Brabham, who recently tested a Late Model stock car for the first time, and made his Stadium Super Trucks debut.
