Bourdais and Saavedra ready for first start with KV Racing Technology at St. Pete

KV Racing Technology new line up debut on the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg this weekend.

Sebastien Bourdais No.11 Team Hydroxycut - KVSH Racing Chevrolet/Dallara/Firestone

Four-time series champion Sebastien Bourdais will be making his debut with KVSH Racing this weekend at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Last year he finished 12th in the Verizon IndyCar Series standings with 370 points.

• Bourdais is the only driver to win four consecutive championships, taking the ChampCar World Series title in 2004 through to 2007.

• Bourdais is entering his ninth Verizon IndyCar Series season (previously ran five in Champ Car and three with IndyCar).

• The 2014 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will be Bourdais' 114th Verizon IndyCar Series start, first with KVSH and fifth on the streets of St. Petersburg.

• In 113 career Verizon IndyCar Series starts, Bourdais has won 31 races placing him eighth on the all-time list and seventh with 31 pole positions.

• In four previous starts at St. Petersburg, Bourdais has had a best finish of 11th in 2003 and 2013. His best start was pole in 2003 when he also became the first rookie to earn a pole in his debut since 1993 (Nigel Mansell)

• Bourdais, 35, is a native of Le Mans, France but currently resides in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Sebastian Saavedra - No. 17 KV AFS Racing Chevrolet/Dallara/Firestone

Sebastian Saavedra will make his first start with KV AFS Racing this weekend at St. Petersburg, although has had a long association with AFS Racing from when he joined the team in Indy Lights in 2009.

• Saavedra is entering his fifth Verizon IndyCar Series season.

• The 2014 Honda Grand Prix of St, Petersburg will be Saavedra's 39th IZOD IndyCar Series start, 24th on a road/street course, first with KVRT and third on the streets of St. Petersburg.

• In 38 career IZOD IndyCar Series starts, Saavedra has earned two top-10 finishes with a best finish of eight last year.

• In 23 previous road/street course starts, Saavedra has a career best finish of eighth at Baltimore in 2013.

• Saavedra's best road/street course qualifying was at Baltimore in 2013 where she started ninth.

• Saavedra has an oval career best finish of 13th at Milwaukee last year.

• Saavedra, 23, is a native of Bogota, Columbia. He currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana.
