CONQUEST RACING STRUGGLES DURING QUALIFYING FOR THE INDY GRAND PRIX OF ALABAMA

Birmingham, AL (April 10, 2010)- Rookie drivers Mario Romancini and Bertrand Baguette had a difficult qualifying session today on the Barber Motorsports permanent road course, respectively posting the 22nd and 24th best lap times.

The results were disappointing and unexpected for the team as Romancini had a very successful IZOD IndyCar Series open test here last February, posting the 10th fastest time, and Baguette had also a productive rookie test here after the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

"We came here confident of having fast cars after all the preparation we did for this event, but obviously our engineers have had some difficulties adapting the chassis to different track conditions," said Team Manager John Brunner. "We will make more changes for the warm up tomorrow, and we are hoping to be able to improve the cars for the race"

Both teams will continue making changes on the car overnight for Sunday's inaugural running of the Indy Grand Prix of Alamaba.

"Obviously it wasn't a good qualifying session for both cars. We will use this afternoon to study the data, look at our mistakes, and see where we can improve. I think comparing to yesterday my car was a little bit better but we are still far off the pace. We will use this afternoon to study everything, look at the places we can improve, and I hopefully use the warm-up tomorrow to test whatever changes we have made for the race."

Bertrand Baguette, #36 RACB National Team Car "This was not the qualification I expected. We are still struggling with the car and we are running out of time to develop it more. We made a lot of changes last night and the car was a bit better today, but we still need to find another second. We will continue to work hard tonight to be prepared for tomorrows race."
