Birmingham: Andretti Autosport race report

MARCO ANDRETTI, ...

MARCO ANDRETTI, #26 TEAM VENOM ENERGY DRINK CAR

* Led 58 of 90 laps and finished fifth

"We have to be happy to put the Venom car into the top five, especially after our finishes on road courses last year. I think maybe we could have stretched out each of our stints a bit longer and gained on fuel one lap at a time. Helio (Castroneves) just went longer than us each time and that was the difference at the end. He was able to go that much farther and we fell short. Now we just have to keep marching forward. The four of us are working together to keep improving our race cars; we're still a bit off pace. Overall I think this shows we're on the right track."

RYAN HUNTER-REAY, #37 TEAM IZOD CAR

* Finished 12th

"We just really didn't have a very good day, no matter how you look at it. We had a couple good pit stops and I made a couple passes on track, but strategy and track position were everything and we just didn't have it today. It's frustrating. That's about all I can say."

TONY KANAAN, #11 TEAM 7-ELEVEN CAR

* Finished eighth on Sunday

"It was a long day for us. I think we had the right strategy, but we just didn't have the kind of speed that we needed to push those guys up front. It's tough, but we'll have to keep working and get ready for Long Beach."

DANICA PATRICK, #7 TEAM GoDaddy.com CAR

* Finished 19th

"It was a very difficult race and a very challenging day. I wish we had more to show for all the hard work this weekend, but we just didn't have it today. I'm glad we can get right back to it this week and put this behind us."
