Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network Director Wally Leavitt was served a meal by country superstar LeAnn Rimes during the April 1st CBS special "I Get That a Lot." The special program featured celebrities posing as waiters, cashiers and sales staff. Leavitt was seated at a counter in a restaurant in Nashville outfitted in an IMS Radio Network hat and IndyCar Series polo when he was unexpectedly served by Rimes.

The Indy Racing League has struck a four year deal with Mattel's Hot Wheels to provide a line of detailed die-cast cars. The cars, produced in 1:24 and 1:64 scale are available trackside at St. Petersburg.

A large ferris wheel located behind the main grandstands provides an excellent view of the cars as they speed along the waterfront. Looking down into the cockpit as the drivers negotiated the final right-left complex was particularly enlightening. At two bucks a person, the ride was a bargain too.

Dario Franchitti participated in "Dressed to Kilt" in New York City to benefit the Wounded Warriors program and the Paralyzed Veterans of America through the non-profit Friends of Scotland. Franchitti said, "It's an unusual feeling to be wearing a kilt walking down the street in New York City." Franchitti will be sporting green this weekend too. His car is emblazoned with sponsorship from Air Wiek Freshmatic, an automatic air freshener.
