Simona de Silvestro's car burned Tuesday during Indy 500 practice.
INDIANAPOLIS - Due to extensive fire damage to the rear of Simona de Silvestro's No. 29 Andretti Autorsport Honda, the team, with permission from series officials, have loaded up what remains of the car and taken it back to their headquarters for further repairs. We likely will not see her on track tomorrow.
The shop is located just ten miles North of the speedway. Motorsport.com caught images of the team as they packed up the car. The fire was caused by a fuel leak at the buckeye, which was stuck open. She was on an outlap, leading the entire Andretti fleet as the five cars exited the pits together.
