Lap 45/90: We are halfway through this race! Rosenqvist still leads Palou by 2.5s

Just as we say that, Newgarden throws it under Armstrong into Turn 1 and locks up the LF as he clears him!

Has to be a bit annoying for Newgrden. He needed open track but he exited the pits directly behind Armstrong, and has still yet to pass him. 

Rosenqvist back in control, just over two seconds clear of Palou 

Here's a look at that strangely spread out start from earlier:

Newgarden moves into the lead on Lap 33 after his aggressive stint, 12s clear of Rosenqvist

Rosenqvist stays ahead of Palou in the race off pit road, and both cars remain on the soft tires

Palou is suddenly within a second of Rosenqvist now. The gap is closing!

Newgarden is flying, but he just touched the wall with the RR...absolutely on the limit.

Newgarden is putting down some remarkable laptimes after that early stop...will be interesting to see where he ends up as these strategies begin to unfold

Lap 20/90: Rosenqvist leads Palou by 1.8s, with O'Ward 3.8s back of Palou. 

All the rookies are running together with Hauger, Collet, and Schumacher only separated by a couple seconds at the back of the T20

No change at the front and the gap remains constant between FRO and Palou, but Pato has faded to three seconds adrift of Palou.

Rossi is up four places from the start, making him the biggest mover ... so far

Lap 10/90: Rosenqvist leads Palou by 1.4 seconds and that gap hasn't changed much in recent laps

Not much action at the moment around the track and the entire field is within two or three spots of their starting positions. 

Most of the field have started on the hard tire, but the leading quartet are all on softs (Rosenqvist, Palou, O'Ward, Kirkwood)

Palou with a bold move to the inside of O'Ward for P2 on the run down into Turn 1

Clean start, but that'll happen when it's so spread out like that. 

Only the top six were double file
