Keep following along for more coverage at Motorsport.com from Indianapolis for the 110th running of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing!

  1. Alex Palou
  2. Alexander Rossi
  3. David Malukas
  4. Felix Rosenqvist
  5. Santino Ferrucci
  6. Pato O'Ward

ALEX PALOU IS ON POLE FOR THE 2026 INDIANAPOLIS 500

ALEXANDER ROSSI AND DAVID MALUKAS JOIN HIM ON THE FRONT ROW

Rosenqvist won't even reach the front row!

231.375mph puts him P4

That car does not look stable, dancing around at the exit of the corner

Lap 2 isn't it either...Palou has to be feeling confident now

Can Rosenqvist respond? No one has beaten the Swede today

A flawless, perfect run.

PALOU TO THE TOP!

It's a 232.248mph run

Palou will have to fall off quite a bit for Rossi to hang on

Rossi won the Indy 500 as a rookie in 2016, but he has never actually started higher than 3rd. At the very least, he will match that today

Malukas reaches 232mph on Lap 4! Incredible, but it's not quite enough...231.877mph average puts him right behind Rossi

He's neck-and-neck with Rossi's pace after three laps!

That's a fast Lap 1 from Malukas, but it's still not Rossi level

David Malukas rolls out as Penske's only shot at the Indy 500 pole

Santino Ferrucci with a 230.846mph average, slotting between Rossi and O'Ward.

We are halfway through Fast 6 Pole Qualifying

Tracking faster than O'Ward but slower than Rossi at the moment

A four-lap average of 230.442mph for Pato O'Ward, who at least kept it consistent all the way through. Rossi remains in P1.

230, 230, 230...going to need to pick it up if Pato wants to be on the front row.

So much shade over the frontstretch and Turn 1 now, which will lower the track temp and make these runs the fastest of the day

A wiggle at the exit of Turn 2 and while Rossi made an adjustment, there is no lifting

He stays above 232 for Lap 2 and that car looks rock solid

The No. 20 ECR Chevrolet with a 232.568 in an unreal Lap 1!

And it begins! Alexander Rossi rolls out of the pits

We now know positions 7-33 for the grid, with only the first two rows left to be decided. Here's where the rest of the field ended up:
