Prasad wins the second JK Tyre race of the weekend

Vishnu Prasad keeps his lead in the championship with a win in the second JK Tyre race of the Buddh International weekend.

Having started on pole, Rabindra maintained his lead in the race after a safety car interruption to recover the stranded Dhruv Mohite car.

Behind Rabindra, the fight for second place was on between Ananth Shanmugam and Vishnu Prasad, who made up two places to run third as Italian Costantino Peroni was pushed down to third.

Midway in the race, Rabindra lost the top spot with some issues on his car as Prasad took the lead from Peroni while Shanmugam too dropped back.

This pack was chased by Karthik Tharani who made up three places to third, into the podium position.

Prasad maintained a good lead over Peroni to the chequered flag to win the race, but the Italian was penalised for a jump start.

A 10-second penalty was handed to Peroni which dropped him to sixth and promoted Tharani to second while Shanmugam completed the podium.

Sandeep Kumar finished fourth as Krishnaraaj Mahadik was fifth. Rabindra eventually finished seventh ahead of Akash Gowda.

The top 10 was completed by Nayan Chatterjee at ninth and Diljith TS 10th. The fastest lap was clocked by Tharani with a time of 2m11.204s.
