Peroni cherishes racing in India

Peroni drove as a guest driver in the series with the EuroInternational team, who provide the Formula BMW cars to the championship.

First time in India, the Italian said he enjoyed racing in the country. "My overall experience has been amazing," he told Motorsport.com.

"It was the first time for me in India, but I really enjoyed the spirit of racing there. I met a lot of people and made some new good friends.

"But the most amazing thing was the crowd. I have never seen something like that," he added.

Peroni was elated notching up wins, podiums and poles to his name across the four races in the series after early adapting troubles.

"At the beginning it was very hard because in my past experiences I have driven with tyres completely different from those," the Italian said.

"There were a lot of good drivers and it hasn't been easy at all. This was a tough year for me with my exams and so this stint was a good way to be back racing."

When talking about the tracks he raced in the championship, while he rated Buddh to be closer to the modern circuits around the globe, the Kari Motor Speedway proved to be a tough track to master.

"Coimbatore is like an old style track because it's quite short but at the same time it's very difficult as you don't have time to rest," he said. 

"Buddh is much more similar to the most famous tracks around Europe. The whole structure is new and I really enjoyed to drive there especially the second sector."

Looking ahead in the future, the young driver firstly aims to become a professional driver as he ponders between single-seater and sportscar, with the latter having more weight going forward.
