Mahadik takes his maiden JK Tyre win

Krishnaraj Mahadik staked his claim in the second race of the JK Tyre weekend winning it ahead of Vishnu Prasad at the Kari Motor Speedway.

Mahadik, after having started on pole lost the lead to Prasad on the opening lap of the Sunday morning race.

But by lap three, the Kolhapur-based driver took the lead back from Prasad and continued that way till the chequered flag fell to win his first race of the season.

Prasad settled for second but was chased by Kush Maini all through the race battling hard for second. Prasad lapped the fastest time of the race at 1m04.802s.

The Bangalore-based driver lost positions after re-start when Akhil Rabindra pounced on the opportunity and took the final podium position.

Maini, in the end, finished fifth after running third for the better half of the race behind Akash Gowda who had a great battle with sixth-placed Ananth Shanmugam.

Karthik Tharani only managed seventh while Italy's Costantino Peroni was ninth. The retirement list had Dhruv Mohite and Ameya Bafna.
