Dubai MRF Challenge: Calderon handed podium as Troitskiy disqualified

Tatiana Calderon has been promoted to third place in the final MRF Challenge race of the weekend at the Dubai Autodrome, after Nikita Troitskiy was disqualified for a technical infringement.

Calderon was initially classified fourth, just over a second behind Troitskiy, before the Russian driver was excluded from the results for running with an illegal ride height.

The result was that Calderon was promoted to the final spot on the podium behind Pietro Fittipaldi and Alessio Picariello, a day after she was awarded victory due to a time penalty for Tarun Reddy.

It also means Calderon jumps Troitskiy in the points standings, moving up to second behind leader Fittipaldi with just the Chennai finale remaining.

MRF Challenge points standings:

1  Pietro Fittipaldi 168
2  Tatiana Calderon 150
3  Nikita Troitskiy 137
4  Alessio Picariello 134
5  Nobuharu Matsushita 80
6  Tarun Reddy 64
