Coimbatore JK Tyre Racing: Reddy takes easy Race 3 win
Anindith Reddy came up a scintillating drive to win Race 3 of the JK Euro 17 in Coimbatore.
Chennai’s Vishnu Prasad finished second, while Australian guest driver Ricky Capo was third.
Hyderabad’s Reddy was on pole position and got off to a decent start, but Prasad was in no mood to give up so easily. Reddy only had a slender lead going into the first corner and with several cars fighting for places.
The top few cars were bunched up and it was pretty stiff at the first corner.
After a couple of laps, the cars began to spread out a bit.
Reddy and Prasad pulled away from the rest of the pack and began to have a little competition of their own. But after four laps, Reddy had managed to get a substantial lead over Prasad.
In the pack behind, it was Akash Gowda, Nayan Chatterjee and Capo.
Capo overtook Gowda and moved up to the third place, but at the head of the field, the order remained the same.
Meanwhile, Gowda tried to fight back but there was not much he could do as the Australian had good pace.
At the front, Reddy was clearly in no mood to make any mistake like on Saturday that led to penalties. He put his head down to the job and began to pull away from Prasad. After all, this was going to be a fight to retain the lead in the championship.
Even for Prasad, it was crucial not to make a mess of things since he is second in the championship.
By the end of the race, Reddy had a good lead and in the end, it turned out to be an easy win for him.
