Coimbatore TVS Apache 200: Subramaniam thwarts rivals to take double win

The Chennai-based rider was in a league of his own to win both the Open category races of the one-make championship in Coimbatore.

In Race 1 on Saturday, Subramaniam, who also takes part in the Asia Road Racing Championship, finished 23.781s ahead of second placed Arvind Ganesh and repeated the same in Race 2 on Sunday.

This time the margin came down by a mere 0.306s as Subramaniam was 23.475s clear of Ganesh's time at a sunny but windy KMS circuit.

Rahil Peerzade completed the podium in Saturday's race while GA Sunil made it to the top three on Sunday, after he retired on the opening lap yesterday.

Peerzade finished fourth in Race 2 as Bangalore's Sofyan Ahmed took the same spot in Race 2, having finished sixth in the first race.

T Ramakrishnan and S John Paul completed the top five in the respective races, the former finishing eighth in Race 2 while the latter retired from race 1.
