Michael Shank Racing revealed that Mark Wilkins and Tom Dyer will take part in the all new Acura NSX GT3 effort in all four of the North American Endurance Cup rounds during the 2017 WeatherTech SportsCar season.
They will join usual drivers Andy Lally, Oswaldo Negri, Jeff Segal and Katherine Legge.
The silver-rated duo will also participate in the upcoming test at Daytona International Speedway, preceding the Rolex 24.
Wilkins brings with him an impressive racing resume, having earned class victories at three of the four IMSA endurance races he will be competing in next year class wins at the (Daytona, Sebring, Petit Le Mans). The 33-year-old Canadian has amassed a total of 82 combined starts in Grand-Am, ALMS and the WTSC.
38-year-old Dyer has quite a diverse background with starts in junior open-wheel cars, regional NASCAR stock car series and the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.
“Both Mark and Tom will be strong additions to our endurance racing efforts with the Acura NSX GT3,” said Lee Niffenegger, senior program engineer for Honda Performance Development.
“They bring skill sets and endurance racing experience that will benefit the program, and mesh well with the full-season drivers in both series.”
