WeatherTech Racing headed to Indy

MacNeil, Keen third in GTD points.

WeatherTech Racing is headed to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Brickyard Grand Prix to run Friday, July 25.

Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and teammate Leh Keen (Charleston, S.C.) remain in contention to defend the team's title as they are third in GTD points, just seven points out of the lead. The team took the opportunity to test at the recently revised 2.4-mile, 14-turn Brickyard Grand Prix Circuit in late June.

"The Indy road course is really special because of the history," MacNeil said. "I'm really excited to race there because we had great pace at the test a few weeks ago. I have been to the Indy 500 a few times and the energy there is amazing. I'm really looking forward to racing there for the first time on Friday. We need to maximize our finishing positions from here on out because every point will count."

Keen has stood on the Indy podium

"It's always exciting to pull through the gates of Indy," Keen said. "It's a giant world-famous track and you really feel that excitement when you are inside. It's also an awesome podium, which I was fortunate to stand on when Andrew Davis and I scored a third place there in 2012.  I am very happy they have repaved and redesigned the track. The old surface was very low grip and set-up for F1 cars. The new course has much better grip and is more sports car friendly, although I am going to miss the old banked Indy corner onto the front straight."

"We have been up there in the points for many races now, but we really want to take the championship lead," he continued. "To do that we need to win. So the next couple of races we are shooting for some victories to take over the championship lead."

Alex Job, team owner, has his team focused

"We are in the middle of a string of real important races," Job said. "Leh and Cooper have been able to keep close to the championship lead, but need to put together a string of strong finishes if we are going to defend our championship from the last two years. The GTD class is the most competitive in the TUDOR Championship series and we will have to be pretty close to perfect to win it this year."

The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Brickyard Grand Prix round six, July 24-25 will be broadcast live on Friday starting at 5:30 p.m. ET. Live race streaming can be viewed at or on the FOX Sports GO mobile app. The live radio broadcast will air on the Motor Racing Network on,, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90).

The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship GTD (GT Daytona) Class is made up of some the world's most sophisticated cars, including the Porsche 911 GT America, Ferrari 458, Aston Martin, BMW Z4, Viper SRT and Audi R8. All GTD Class cars run on the spec Continental tire.

Alex Job Racing is one of the most successful teams in sports car racing with 70 wins (since 1995); including two Rolex 24 GT Class wins in 1999 and 2013. This record is supported by 48 pole positions and 106 podium finishes.  The team has won five championships (GTC 2013, 2012, GT in 2004, 2003 and 2002) complimented by their two GT class wins at Le Mans. The team also boasts nine Sebring 12-hour wins.
