The DeltaWing gets a splitter and rear fin for Petit Le Mans

There have been a couple revisions to the DeltaWing ahead of this weekend's race.

The DeltaWing DWC13 coupe has a couple new accessories, just in time for Petit Le Mans this weekend. The most noticeable is the splitter-like feature now attached to the distinct nose of the machine.

You have to look a little harder to see the second addition. Towards the rear of the car, there is a now a fin sticking out over the engine cover. Both are there to improve stability and help the car aerodynamically as the team works towards 2015.

The hope is for a stabler car that is more glued to the race track ... More controllable. Piloted by Andy Meyrick, Katherine Legge and Gabby Chaves, it was half a second off the fastest DP in the opening practice session.

This car, not to be confused with the Nissan ZEOD, has made five starts this year, finishing as high as sixth at Road America.
