Elkhart Lake, WI – As racing fans flock to the storied Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin area for this weekends race at Road America, TRG-AMR drivers Christina Nielsen and Kuno Wittmer aim to take home the trophy. Nielsen and the team currently stand second in the TUDOR United Sportscar Series series and have their sights set on capturing the lead. She will be the one to watch on the leaderboard this weekend as well as the blue Orion/Royal Purple/LaSalle Solutions/Passtime USA number 007 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 that Nielsen will race on Sunday.

The team has had a busy couple of weeks as it is made stops along the way at the headquarters and offices of several of its primary sponsors and partners. The team set up in Indianapolis at the headquarters of Calumet and Royal Purple for an employee “meet and greet” and a display of the beautiful GT3’s. Christina and Kuno were both on hand to sign autographs and meet the Calumet/Royal Purple team. Then it was off to Chicago for the big LaSalle Solutions event at the local headquarters for Cisco Systems one of its top clients.

This will be my first time racing at Road America in the GT3 and I’m excited to compete at this legendary circuit,

The team staged a full Paddock setup with four race cars on display and had a fantastic afternoon mingling with the Cisco and LaSalle team members and doing a fair share of “bench racing”. Then finally it was off to the Orion Lighting Headquarters in Manitowoc, Wisconsin where the team staged a live drive and pitstop inside the factory in front of several hundred of the Orion team members and employees.

It was truly exciting as the stunning GT3 was driven by Christina Nielsen with the beautiful sound of the V12 engine resonating throughout the factory. The team then had a nice lunch with the Orion team and packed up and headed to Road America. Road America is the local track for Orion and this will be a big event for them and the TRG-AMR team with Orion expecting nearly 200 guests on race day to root on their car to victory.

After their outstanding performance last month at the Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park, Nielsen and Wittmer are excited to participate for the first time together in the region’s proud tradition of sports car racing dating back to 1955 when the Road America course first opened.

“This will be my first time racing at Road America in the GT3 and I’m excited to compete at this legendary circuit,” said Christina Nielsen, TRG-AMR driver. “I feel good about my standing in the series and hope to bring home a win for the team and for the fans.”

"Road America has always been a very special place, with it's high speed corners and straights making a great challenge for any driver and team caliber,” said Kuno Wittmer, TRG-AMR driver. “Not only is it an amazing circuit, but it’s also traditionally a turning point for a championship. We need to score maximum points here and run a mistake free race."

Setting the TRG-AMR team apart are the strengths of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3. The vehicle comes equipped with a V12 engine, the only V12 in the TUDOR series, and can be heard loud and clear from a distance with its high pitched “F-1” style sound.

“Road America is one of my favorite tracks and I’m glad to be back with our team racing here again,” said Kevin Buckler, CEO at TRG-AMR.“ We have a long and successful history here starting in the late 80’s when I raced for my first time at this track. The town, the fans, the circuit and the event are all so enjoyable. We are here with our partners from Orion and want to deliver an epic performance for them. We came to win.”
