NASCAR's Jeff Gordon joins Fox broadcast of Petit Le Mans
Former NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon is expanding his TV analyst career.
Gordon, currently a NASCAR analyst for Fox Sports, will work in the Fox Sports booth for IMSA’s 20th anniversary Petit Le Mans from Road Atlanta on Saturday. Coverage begins at 10:30 a.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
Gordon competed in the 2017 IMSA season-opening 24 Hours of Daytona and won driving the Cadillac prototype for Wayne Taylor Racing along with teammates Ricky Taylor, Jordan Taylor and Max Angelelli.
Gordon joins the Fox IMSA broadcast team of Greg Creamer (play-by-play), Calvin Fish (analyst) and Brian Till (play-by-play/analyst), along with pit reporters Justin Bell, Jamie Howe and Chris Neville.
“I’m going to enjoy watching the season-ending IMSA event from the booth, and analyzing the racing in this series presents a fun new challenge to me,” Gordon said.
A 39-car field is expected at the Petit Le Mans, which serves as the season finale for both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup.
The race marks Team Penske’s return to sports car racing with a prototype to be shared by Juan Pablo Montoya, Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud.
