Muscle Milk Pickett Racing shuts down

Muscle Milk Pickett Racing is no more.

Muscle Milk Pickett Racing, the winners of both the 2012 and 2013 ALMS driver/team P1 titles, is no more. The team has closed their doors after announcing a few weeks ago that they would no longer compete in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship.

MMPR was founded in 2007 and is based in Indianapolis. They kicked off the 2014 season with a strong fifth place run in the 24 Hours of Daytona before mechanical issues severely hindered their efforts at Sebring.

When they opted not to go to Le Mans after receiving an invite, most figured they just wanted to get a year under their belt in TUSC and get settled into the newly merged series but obviously, that was not the case.

The team has yet to release an official statement, but drivers Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf, as well as Brandon Fry (Team Manager/Chief Engineer), have acknowledged the news on social media by RTing and responding to tweets from fans who are offering their support and expressing their disappointment with the news.
