The 41-year-old Brazilian is no stranger to the US endurance classic, having taken overall victory along with Ganassi teammates Scott Dixon, Kyle Larson and Jamie McMurray back in 2015 in a Ford-powered Riley DP.
Now Kanaan joins Ganassi's four-strong attack on the GTLM class at Daytona for 2017, lining up alongside FIA WEC regulars Harry Tincknell and Andy Priaulx in the #69 Ford GT.
The #66 and #67 cars will be driven by Ford's two regular IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship endurance line-ups from this season, with Joey Hand joining Dirk Muller and Sebastien Bourdais in the #66 and Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and Dixon teaming up in the #67.
FIA WEC pairing Olivier Pla and Stefan Mucke are joined by Billy Johnson in the #68 car, the American driver getting his first outing in the Ford GT since this year's Le Mans 24 Hours.
