Sports car veteran didn't have a ride for the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, but he still showed up with his helmet in hand, telling Motorsport.com that you never know and it's always best to be there.

Well, Cosmo has gotten the call from a top Daytona Prototype team, mere hours before the race's planned start.

I briefly spoke with Guy, who delivered the news via text, obviously busy getting situated in the car. He will be the fourth man on the No. 90 VisitFlorida.com Racing Corvette DP, joining Richard Westbrook, Michael Valiante, and Mike Rockenfeller in the car, which starts tenth in this race.

Other changes, additions

He is not the only late addition though. Doug Smith has been employed by the No. 50 DP, but there were also some alterations in the GT field. Most notably, the No. 911 GTLM car now has Michael Christensen.

Muehlner Motorsports America team has swapped Matteo Beretta with Michael Lira, switching the cars they will pilot. The Porsche team has also added Nikolaus Mayr-Melnhof. Scuderia Corsa will go to five drivers in their No. 63 GTD entry, adding Jeff Westphal and TRG-AMR has brought on Brandon Davis for the No. 009.
