Every TUDOR Championship GT-Daytona entry gets 'Balance of Performance' adjustments

Weight added to try and slow down the Viper prior to next race.

The so-far dominant Dodge Viper in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship's GT-Daytona class is getting its wing trimmed a bit after sanctioning body IMSA released new "Balance of Performance" adjustments prior to the upcoming race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The Viper will be running with a 30 kilogram weight penalty. And not only is the Viper being slowed, much of the competition is speeding up with weight reductions for the Aston Martin V12 Vantage (10 kg), the Audi R8 LMS (25 kg), the BMW Z4 (25 kg) and the Ferrari 458 Italia (20 kg).

The Porsche 911 GT America will be slowed by a 10.5 millimeter reduction in the size of the air restrictor. The Audi and BMW are also getting air restrictor reductions.

The Porsche is the only one of the six models that does not get a weight addition or reduction.

The race will run May 1-3.
