Denver, NC - The 2015 Tudor United SportsCar Championship doesn't officially commence until the Green Flag to begin the 53rd Annual Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 24, 2015, but that hasn't slowed down Action Express Racing as they prepare to defend their wins and championships.
December is traditionally the most grueling month for Action Express Racing and this year is no exception after the remarkable championship sweep of 2014. Drivers, crewmembers and the rest of the team will be logging miles over the next two weeks in preparation for the 'Roar Before the 24' January 9-11 at Daytona International Speedway.
The Whelen Engineering No. 31 Corvette Prototype will be on display at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) tradeshow in Indianapolis on December 11-13 with driver Eric Curran in attendance to meet with fans and industry representatives as par to the Whelen Engineering Display. Whelen Engineering designs state of the art warning and signaling systems, among these are warning light systems, which are featured at racing venues around the world.
Champions on track
On December 15, defending Rolex 24 champions João Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi will be on-track at Daytona with the new Corvette C7 Daytona Prototype to get an early feel for the new aerodynamic advancements from Chevrolet. Immediately following the test, the two champions will depart Daytona Beach and participate in Chevrolet Champions Celebration at the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit where the 2014 Championship winning Action Express Racing Corvette will be on display.
Whelen Engineering drivers will arrive on December 16, to conclude the two-day test in preparation for the Rolex 24. After the conclusion of testing, Action Express Racing will return to Denver, NC to analyze the data from the Daytona test, and prepare for the private test at Sebring International Raceway on December 22.
