Action Express on top again in final practice at Sebring

Action Express Racing continued its run of dominance in the lead up to the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring with a 1-2 result in Practice 4.

Dane Cameron put the No. 31 Whelen Corvette DP at the top of the timesheets with a 1:52.135, the fastest lap of the weekend. Teammate Filipe Albuquerque followed just 0.093 seconds behind in the sister Corvette DP.

Michael Shank Racing and driver Olivier Pla rebounded after a long night of repairs to finish the session in third, and the quickest of the P2 machine.

Mazda briefly topped the session when Spencer Pigot went P1 but dropped to fourth in the final standings, with Tequila Patron ESM’s Pipo Derani in fifth.

Colin Braun ran most of the session for CORE Autosport in PC and recorded the fastest time in the class, a half-second clear of Stephen Simpson of JDC-Miller Motorsport.


BMW’s Bill Auberlen was quickest in GTLM with a fast time of 1:57.751, well below the class track record set last year.

Spencer Pumpelly piloted Change Racing’s Lamborghini Hurrican GT3 to the top of the class in GTD.

There were three red flags during the 60-minute session, but with no major incidents.

The IMSA WeatherTech Championship returns to action with qualifying, which is scheduled to begin at 3:35pm ET.
