IMSA released a statement today, offering their condolences after the passing of Richard Anderson.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 25, 2014) –“On behalf of everyone at the International Motor Sports Association, I want to offer sincere condolences to the family of Richard Anderson, the leader of Motorsports Ministries who lost a long and courageous battle with cancer Friday morning,” said Scott Atherton, IMSA President and COO.

“Richard was an icon for years in both the GRAND-AM and American Le Mans Series paddocks; on countless race weekends he was, in effect, our ‘church.’

“Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his many friends throughout the sports car industry. Richard will be sorely missed by all of us.”
