Dyson Racing Repeats! Take 1 and 2 at Toshiba Copiers and Fax California Grand Prix

SEARS POINT, Calif. -- James Weaver and Andy Wallace drove the Dyson Racing Ford R&S MK III to victory in the Toshiba Copiers & Fax California Grand Prix Exxon World SportsCar Series event Sunday, defeating Dyson teammates Elliott Forbes-Robinson and Butch Leitzinger by 9.432 seconds. The winners had started 17th in the 19-car field when they were moved down the grid because of changing engines after Saturday's qualifying session.

Weaver and Leitzinger are now tied for second place in the points standings behind Forbes-Robinson. The pole-sitting MOMO Ferrari 333SP retired on the first lap of the two-hour race when Antonio Hermann went off at Turn 2, going up an enbankment. Both the car and the grass caught fire, forcing a full course caution.

The Weaver/Wallace car pitted while it still had about seven gallons of fuel, shortening their pit stop and enabling them to go the final 40 minutes without another stop. The victory is the fourth this season for the Dyson team. Weaver, who teamed with Leitzinger to win the last race at Watkins Glen, was also a solo winner at Sears Point last year. The Ferrari 333SP of Eduardo Dibos and Fermin Velez finished third.
