World Sports Cars had a one hour practice session today. Rain was in the area and some teams elected to turn the cars over to the crews for a thorough inspection rather than run the cars on the wet track.

The new edition of "Phil Hill: Yankee Champion" is out and Phil spent some time at the Sportscar Memorabilia show signing copies of the book. Phil was available at the show as soon as son Derek was relieved of duties behind the wheel of the #9 BMW 328is. The proud papa was back at the circuit for Derek's next driving stint. Derek John Hill will race in the Barber Dodge Pro Series and in the 12 hour race with Tom Milner's Prototype Technology Group BMW team on Saturday.

Polesitter Tom Papadopoulos won the Ferrari Challenge race today. Dr. Steve Earle lead early in the race and opened up a large lead. After Papadopoulos reeled in Earle, a terrific battle ensued highlighted by successive passes for the lead through turns one and two.

Mike Anderson won the Black Magic Pro Series race held today. Both the Ferrari Challenge and the Black Magic Pro series races were held under wet conditions.

The Ford Panoz Esperante, GTS-1 pole car, was built with Reynard components. A Reynard engineer is working with the team at each race. "We'll be ready when the McLarens and Porsches come over" said driver Doc Bundy.
