Oswego, NY . . . Oswego Speedway is set for its 51st consectuive year of operation featuring three weekly divisons and several special events at family friendly prices. According to Oswego Promoter, Romey Caruso, "When we sat down to draft the 2001 schedule the focus was on two key elements; family entertainment and value. I think our 2001 schedule has a good mixture of both."
From an entertainment standpoint, the ISMA supermodifieds, ARDC/NEMA winged midgets and the MBNA Cup Lites will all make two appearances at Oswego Speedway in 2001. Special attractions include the fan favorite demolition derby on Saturday, June 23rd, a gigantic fireworks display on Saturday, June 30th and a spectacular thrill show on Saturday, July 14th.
If that's not enough, the always unpredictable $10,000 to Win Mr. Supermodified 50 is on tap for Saturday, July 21st and back by popular demand the wild and breathtaking twin supermodified features, each 30 laps in length, is set for Saturday, August 18th.
To keep racing at the Big "O" affordable, both the 2001 season's reserved seat ticket prices and the weekly general admission prices remain at the same level as last year. In addition, two big discount nights have been scheduled this season.
On Saturday, June 23rd, adult admission will be just $5.00 with children being admitted for $.50. This should prove to be a popular family night as in addition to a full race program for the supers, limiteds and super stocks, the annual demolition derby and kid's big wheel race is also scheduled.
Then, on Saturday, August 11th, Oswego will celebrate its 51st Anniversary with a full triple header race program, by rolling back prices to $2.00 for adults and $.50 for children. The Nostalgia Weekend will kick off with a Super Cruise in the pit area on Friday, August 10th with street rods, classic cars, antique cars, a live oldies band and an autograph session with Oswego drivers, past and present. As always, the Friday Super Cruise is FREE of charge.
Finally, to make Budweiser Classic Weekend more affordable for families, there's a new two day general admission ticket available. By going to both events on Saturday and Sunday of Budweiser Classic Weekend, an adult will receive an $8.00 discount off regular general admission prices while a child will receive a $6.00 discount.
Oswego's 2001 racing season gets underway on Saturday, May 12th with the annual Coca-Cola Kickoff. For a race schedule and ticket information contact the Speedway Box Office weekdays at 315-342-0646 or visit the website at www.oswegospeedway.com.
