IMSG TO OPERATE MOSPORT PARK

International Motor Sports Group Inc. (IMSG), the parent company of Professional SportsCar Racing, Inc. (SportsCar) will operate Mosport Park for at least the next 40 years. The agreement, signed last week, gives IMSG exclusive rights to all events that take place at Mosport Park. The first major program will take place Labor Day Weekend when SportsCar will present a joint program with the SCCA ... IMSG is forming a Canadian company, IMSG Properties Ltd., to handle the day-to-day operation of the facility. Andrew Evans will be chairman and chief executive officer of the Canadian company. Jack Long will be president and chief operating officer. Debbie Pearle and Sid Priddle, are vice-presidents ... "We are extremely pleased to be coming to Canada," Evans said. "There is a strong tradition of motorsports in this country and Mosport Park has been synonymous with first-class motorsports for more than 30 years. It has hosted Formula 1, Indy Car, USAC, Trans-Am and other top series. Any racer who has ever competed at Mosport calls it one of the world's great facilities. It is our intention to build on Mosport's reputation by offering a variety of first-class events. Initially, we will review the operation and determine what needs to be done -- both to the track and other on-site amenities -- to bring Mosport Park up to world-class standards. We want to ensure we make the right decisions." ... "IMSG has hit a home run every time we have taken on a new challenge," Long said. "We have seen record fields and strong fan support at Exxon World SportsCar Championship races in Atlanta, Daytona and Sebring this season. And we envision great things for Mosport in the future, as well."
