PORSCHE COMPETITORS HEAD NORTH TO MOSPORT INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

BRASELTON, Ga. August 19 -- Sportscar fans in Canada will have something to cheer about this weekend as the IMSA Challenge by Michelin drivers compete in rounds nine and ten at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario.

With six races remaining in the season Dino Steiner, Wehingen, Germany, leads 2007 champion Bob Faieta, Tujunga, Calif., in the Platinum Cup standings. Tony Rivera has won every race this year in the Gold Cup, the class designated for 2005-2007 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars.

"The winning streak is still going," Rivera said after winning round eight at Mid-Ohio. "I'm just having fun."

Melanie Snow, Pleasant Grove, Utah, trails Rivera by 32 points. Snow has finished consistently all year, only finishing off of the podium once. Brian Wong, Newport Beach, Calif., is third in Gold Cup points.

25 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars will compete on the 10-turn, 2.5-mile Mosport International Raceway. The green flag will fall on round nine Saturday, August 23 at 4:55 p.m. Round ten will take place Sunday, August 24 at 1:30 p.m. before the American LeMans Series race.
