Skip Barber Racing School instructor and staff member Divina Galica will return to the Women’s Global GT Series which gets underway in a week’s time at the Exxon Superflo 12 Hours of Sebring race weekend. Thanks to sponsorship from Aramark, Galica hopes to finish the season one spot higher than last year and claim the crown.
"Its not going to be easy" she said " Most of the girls I'm racing against have raced and tested all winter and the last time I sat in a car was when I won the final race at Las Vegas in October 1999. I'm going to have to dig deep into my experience."
The English born Galica has a long history in racing having competed at various levels of the sport including the British Formula One Series in the 1970’s. She’s not only excelled at racing automobiles, but ski’s as well hving been a member of the British Olympic Ski Team.
Galica finished last season’s in second-place with two wins at Road Atlanta and Las Vegas, a second and two thirds to her credit. This year she plans to contest the entire season after having missed the first round last year. She missed out on the inaugural series title by 13 points.
