She put her car on pole at Sebring but came up a place short in the Women’s Global GT Season opener. For the second round at Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C., Divina Galica won the pole and the race in no uncertain terms. The win coupled with her second-place Sebring finish vaulted Galica into the overall point’s lead, a place she has no intention of relinquishing.

Last year, the Skip Barber Racing School instructor and staff member missed out on the title in the final round. Her resolve to not repeat that performance was set in her mind the day after that final race in Las Vegas. A flag to flag victory on the 2.25-mile infield road-course bear testament to that resolve.

Galica now has three career wins in the Women’s Global GT Series, more than does any other driver.

Barber Dodge Pro Series driver Milka Duno finished the race fourth along with fellow Skip Barber Race Series veteran Terri Hundertmark in seventh.
