June 21 - Sportscar racer and one time head of PSR Andy Evans born (1951).

June 22 - IRL driver Jeff Ward born (1961).

June 23 - Jackie Stewart gives Matra their first F1 GP win by driving his Ford powered MS10 to victory in the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. J-P Beltoise makes it a Matra 1-2 when he finishes second in his Matra powered MS11 (1968).

- Mario Andretti starts his 350th Indy car race, at Portland, Oregon, USA (1991).

- Alex Zanardi wins his first CART Champcar race, at Portland, Oregon, USA (1996).

June 24 - NASCAR stockcar racer Hut Stricklin born (1961).

June 25 - The USAC board votes to reduce the air-intake annulus on turbine engines for Indy cars from 23.999 to 15.999 square inches (1967).

June 26 - Philippe Streiff born (1955).

- Nigel Mansell takes a "break" from driving CART Indy cars to race in the French Grand Prix. He DNFs (1994).
